Who We Are

Serving the greater Knoxville, TN metropolitan area, Over the Top Solutions, LLC is locally owned by Darren and Carolyn Smith. Carolyn was born and raised in Knoxville and Darren grew up in the Midwest. Graduate school brought Darren to Knoxville, where he obtained his PhD from the University of Tennessee.

They met in the early 1990s while working at the Tennessee Valley Authority, married in 1998, and decided to make Knoxville their permanent residence.

Why Us

“Over the years, we’ve had some great experiences with contractors doing work for us in our own home. For others, it was a completely different story.

Our goal is to provide every customer with a professional experience. We know that making home improvement decisions can be stressful. Our goal is that at the end of the project, you’ll recommend us without hesitation.

While starting this small business is different from the professional careers we’ve previously had, we’ve not entered into this lightly. We’ve taken our time investing in hands-on training, learning what products to use and developing relationships with some of the best experts in the industry.

We bring many of the same habits we were exposed to on a daily basis through working at a utility to working with you (commitment to safety, adherence to technical standards and procedures, and living our values of treating each other with respect).
